Condition of policeman wounded in special operation in Chechnya is stable
The special agent of the Chechen MIA, wounded in the special operation in the Sunzha District, is in the hospital; his health condition is stable.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on December 25, in the settlement of Sernovodsk, Sunzha District of Chechnya, an unidentified person opened fire at policemen: a special force fighter was wounded. The attacker was killed by response fire and pre-identified as a member of the "Makhauri grouping".
The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime in the district is still in force, said a law enforcement source. "The main challenge now is to detect and neutralize the gang leader Makhauri and his accomplices," he said.
According to power agents, the grouping of the field commander Beslan Makhauri, a native of the Achkhoi-Martan District of Chechnya, which is neighbouring the Sunzha District, also known by the nickname "Mukhammad", is acting mainly in the vicinity of the administrative border with Ingushetia.
The gang operates in the Sunzha and Achkhoi-Martan Districts, as well as in the neighbouring Ingushetia since 2011. They were involved in the commission of a series of grave and especially grave crimes, in particular, in the 2013 explosion outside the Sunzha ROVD (District Interior Division), which killed and injured several policemen," said the source.
