Stavropol Territory: Magomed Aliev, suspected of recruiting militants, transferred to prison hospital
Magomed Aliev, a student of a Stavropol higher school, accused of promoting terrorism, has been placed into the hospital of the high security colony No. 3, located in the village of Krasnokumskoe, Georgievskiy District of the Stavropol Territory, the lawyer Olga Kamilova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomed Aliev, a native of Dagestan and a student of the Stavropol Medical Academy, was detained on November 21 on suspicion of recruiting mercenaries for going to war in Syria. On November 27, the young man was taken from SIZO to the hospital; and doctors removed a pen out of his eye. According to the local department of the FSIN (Russian Federal Penitentiary Service), Aliev tried to commit suicide. His relatives believe that agents tried to kill him, and ask to open a criminal case on causing grievous bodily harm to him.
"According to the head of the SIZO (pre-trial prison), he was placed into a specialized medical colony No. 3 in Georgievsk, where he will be kept under guard. Most probably, our appeal against his freedom restriction measure has not been considered yet – I've received no notification from the court, while the session could not take place without me," said Olga Kamilova, adding that what concerns a check of the application lodged by Aliev's relatives about the harm caused to his health, the procedural decision on it is still pending.
Sergey Nesterenko, the deputy head of high security colony No. 3, has confirmed that Magomed Aliev is in their facility and assured that he receives all the necessary medical care.
