Relatives of detained resident of Khasavyurt cannot locate him
Relatives cannot establish the whereabouts of Sabir Ibragimov, a resident of the city of Khasavyurt, who was detained today, said his wife. The city police say that the young man was not taken there.
Sabir Ibragimov, born in 1988, was detained on December 27 in Khasavyurt, his wife Aina told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to her story, at about 6:00 p.m., their apartment was visited by a Khasavyurt policeman, and after him, "armed men in masks broke into the apartment."
"They hit my husband on his head with a rifle butt and threw him onto the floor. They also ordered me to lie down on the floor. All the time they asked about somebody; supposedly, they had information that some militant could be hiding in our home. All the time, they kept beating my husband on his back," said Aina.
She added that while they were prone on the floor, the flat was searched. "Then they took my husband away, putting a bag over his head and roping his hands. I was told that he would be taken to the police for questioning," she said.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Dagestani Regional Public Association (DRPA) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy) that today Aina has brought her application to them.
"She said that her husband was detained for unknown reasons; and she cannot find him," said a DRPA's activists. "We called the Khasavyurt GOVD and ROVD (City and District Interior Divisions, accordingly), where on duty officers told us that Sabir was not delivered to them. Currently, we are waiting for a response from the on duty prosecutor of the Republic of Dagestan."
