Krasnodar region governor declares against rights activists
The Kommersant Vlast weekly has conducted a survey among the most influential persons in the Russian political and social life. The survey is timed to the 50th anniversary of the coming into force of the European Convention on Human Rights. An interviewer asked the governor of Krasnodar Territory, Aleksandr Tkachyov, "What is the situation with human right in your region?" This question was common for all the respondents. Mr Tkachyov answered: "It's normal. But here, in the Krasnodar region, we also meet "jurists" who start explaining us how we should live in our home. I would respond to them in such a way. God, deliver us from such human rights activists, and we will find a way to get rid of offenders."
