After posts about attack on Grozny and death of Shishani, Kadyrov tops bloggers' citation index
The head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov is ranked the first place in the 2014 bloggers' citation rating drafting by the company "Medialogia"; and his most popular statements include the statement about the death of Omar al-Shishani, the leader of the "Islamic State", and information about the special operation after the militants' attack on Grozny. The top-20 also includes the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachov; Sergey Galitskiy, the owner of the "Krasnodar" Football Club; and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, a member of the Pussy Riot, who reported about the attack on her group in Sochi.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2013, the Russian blogger, most frequently quoted by media, according to the "Medialogia", was the oppositional leader Alexei Navalny. He was ahead of the runner-up Ramzan Kadyrov by almost twice. Kadyrov's citation index was then 1955.71.
In 2014, Kadyrov's citation index reached 3213.36 points.
According to the "Medialogia", one of the most cited Kadyrov's entries was his posts in the Instagram, where he covered the special operation on December 4, launched after the militants' attack on law enforcers in Grozny. Another his Instagram entry, which was among the most quoted, was the November 13 report about the murder Tarkhan Batirashvili (Omar al-Shishani), commander of the northern sector of the "Islamic State" – a battle group of radical Islamists who are fighting in Iraq and Syria. However, later the post about Batirashvili's death was deleted; and his death was refuted by a source close to al-Shishani's retinue.
