Attacks on law enforcers
On December 25, in the settlement of Sernovodsk, Sunzha District of Chechnya, an unidentified person, who took refuge in one of the houses, shelled law enforcers. Special and counterterrorist operations
On December 24, passport checks were conducted in the area of private houses of the Staropromyslovskiy District of Grozny. Several dozens of cars with law enforcers arrived there; and then policemen moved along the street, visiting all the households. Eyewitnesses reported that power agents were mainly interested in new residents or strangers. A source from the MIA has treated these measures as "prevention". No information about detainees was reported.

After the searches Magomed Sulaev, a local resident, was detained; earlier, he had stated the torture he was subjected by the police. During the day, his relatives could not locate him. The on duty unit of the Khasavyurt ROVD (District Interior Division) said that Sulaev was not among their detainees.
