Resident of Dagestan associates detention of his relative having many children with his religion
The pistol and drugs found on December 18 in the car of Magomed Kurbanov, a native of the Akusha District of Dagestan, did not belong to him, while his detention may have to do with his Salafi beliefs, said his relative and public defender.
This Kurbanov’s close relative named Ruslan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on December 18, while driving a "Gazel" truck, Kurbanov was stopped, at the entrance to the city of Kizlyar, at a stationary post, by a group of power agents with their cars. They inspected Kurbanov’s truck without presenting any orientation documents.
According to Ruslan, agents used violence at detaining Kurbanov. He also asserts that in order to have Kurbanov fingerprints on the pistol, they put it into his hand.
"He was taken to the temporary detention facility (known as IVS); and on December 20, the Kizlyar District Court ruled to arrest him for two months,” said Ruslan, adding that Kurbanov was to be transferred to the Khasavyurt SIZO (pre-trial prison), but no information about it is available yet.
