NKR’s authorities report calm situation on contact line on New Year night
There were quite a few violations of the ceasefire on the contact line in Karabakh on December 31, 2014, and at night on January 1, 2015; and the overall situation can be treated as calm, the press service of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has reported.
According to Senor Asratyan, the head of the press service, the whole day of December 31, 2014, the situation on the entire contact line was calm. "The relative calm during the day is a temporary phenomenon; therefore, we have no illusions,” said Asratyan.
"In general, the passing year was very tense. The number of ceasefire violations and attempts of enemy’s sabotage penetration have went up threefold; therefore, regardless of holidays or working days, the army is always in readiness," Colonel Djalal Arutyunyan from the NKR’s Defence Army told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
