Chechen authorities announce that killed militants had prepared a series of terror acts

The members of the armed underground killed in the special operation conducted in the village of Mekenskaya, Naur District of Chechnya, had prepared a series of terror acts, said the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today in Mekenskaya two men, hiding in a blocked house, were killed. One of them was identified as a militants’ leader of the Nadterechny and Naur Districts Musa Zavgaev, while the second one – as his accomplice Bashir Omarov. According to power agents, they both had links with the grouping involved in the attack on Grozny on December 4, 2014.

"An especially dangerous terrorist and the gang leader Musa Zavgaev and his accomplice Bashir Omarov are liquidated. The operation was conducted in the outskirt of the village of Mekenskaya. There is reliable information that Zavgaev had prepared a series of terror acts. Having received operative information, we prepared a highly secret operation," Ramzan Kadyrov wrote in his page on the Instagram network.

Currently, a search for their possible accomplices is underway, said the press service of the head and the government of the Chechen Republic.
