NKR veterans receive financial aid by the New Year

Lunpsum financial help was allocated by the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic to World War II and Karabakh War veterans. This decision was made on the occasion of the New Year, which will be celebrated in the republic until January 12.

The payments will be made to veterans themselves and families of those who perished during the Karabakh War – in total over 5000 people.

The minimum payout is 10,000 drams (one US dollar + about 470 drams), the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the NKR’s Ministry of Social Security and Labour.

The holidays will last in the NKR from December 31, 2014, until January 12, 2015.

As reported by Armen Akopyan, the deputy mayor of Stepanakert, the city illumination and holiday boards were made with the support of the administration of Yerevan.
