Tie-rod with grenade found in Rostov Region on border with Ukraine
In the Kuibyshev District of the Rostov Region, close to the Russian-Ukrainian border, a tie-rod with a grenade was found in a tree, the regional department for emergency prevention and response has reported.
An RGD-5 hand grenade was found by locals on January 2, four kilometres from the farmstead named "Novaya Nadezhda" (New Hope), the "161.ru" reports. It was attached to a tree branch by means of a tie-rod. Now, the place is cordoned off and controlled by border guards, the TASS reports referring to the above regional department.
The grenade is in ready-to use condition, the "Interfax-South" writes with reference to the press service of the above regional department for emergency prevention and response.
On August 7, 2014, near the Ukrainian refugee camp, located near the border checkpoint of "Gukovo" in the Rostov Region, an improvised explosive device (IED) with the power of 500 grams of TNT (trotyl) equivalent was detected.
