Access of vehicles to railway station of Volgograd blocked to prevent terror acts
In order to prevent a recurrence of the December 2013 terror acts in Volgograd, they have banned access of vehicles to the railway station.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 29, 2013, Volgograd was struck by a terror act at the railway station; and on December 30, another terror act was committed in a trolleybus. As a result, 34 people were killed, apart from two suicide bombers; and more than 70 people were injured.
Now, the antiterrorist operation "Anaconda" is underway in the territory between the "Dynamo" Stadium and the railway station. People can reach the station only on foot. The motor traffic restrictions will last until January 10, the portal "Vsyo Dlya Vas" (All for You) reports.
The portal "Blocknot-Volgograd" reports that the aim of the operation is not to let members of criminal groupings, terrorist and extremist persons; as well as to check foreign nationals for their legal and justified presence in the territory of Volgograd.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 29, 2014, a mourning rally in memory of the victims of the 2013 terror acts was held at the railway station of Volgograd.
