Azerbaijani CEC cancels election results at two polling stations
Today, in Azerbaijan, the Central Election Commission (CEC) has cancelled the results of the municipal elections held on December 23, 2014, in two polling stations.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at the meeting held on January 3, the Azerbaijani CEC considered 20 appeals and complaints from political parties and candidates for members of municipal councils in connection with the elections of December 23, 2014. The complaints considered by the CEC were filed concerning violations committed during the voting and vote counting. However, no complaint was granted at the meeting.
At the today's meeting, the Azerbaijani CEC has decided to consider invalid the results of voting, held at the polling stations No. 34 and No. 35 on the municipality of Musakucha of the Masally city polling stations No. 70, the "Interfax-Azerbaijan" reports.
According to the Electoral Code of Azerbaijan, the CEC shall check and approve the results of the voting until January 12. The official results of the elections are to be announced by the Azerbaijani CEC on January 17.
