GPO of South Ossetia to send remains of David Basharuli for genetic examination in Russia
The General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of South Ossetia plans to send the remains of a young man found in a forest of the Leningor District to the genetic examination in Rostov-on-Don, in order to confirm that they belong to the citizen of Georgia David Basharuli, who disappeared six months ago.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the 19-year-old David Basharuli, who disappeared in summer of 2014 in Leningori, was found by locals hanged in a forest in the territory of the Leningor District of South Ossetia on January 4.
For the time of investigatory actions and pending the results of the forensic examination, the GPO of South Ossetia has refrained from comments.
Local residents report that David Basharuli disappeared after he was detained by district law enforcers.
"Back in May, David stepped into some kind of a brawl that broke out among villagers. They were all taken away by policemen. Later, the police released the brawlers; but nobody saw Basharuli after that," Zalina Gutsieva, a local resident, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
