Terror act in Istanbul committed by Diana Ramazova

The explosion at a police station in Istanbul was triggered by a citizen of Russia Diana Ramazova, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Turkey has reported. Two policemen were wounded; later one of them died; Ramazova also perished.

According to the MIA, prior to attacking the police station, the woman spoke to a taxi driver in Russian.

The incident took place on January 6 in Sultanahmet Square in Istanbul's historic centre; the woman blew herself up inside the building. According to some reports, she triggered a hand grenade.

The Turkish police suggests that Diana Ramazova, who came to Turkey as a tourist in June 2014, was a native of Chechnya.

According to other sources, the woman's name was Diana Ramazanova; and she was a native of Dagestan. She was married in Istanbul, had several children; and at the time of the terror act she was at the second month of pregnancy – this was reported by the authoritative Turkish newspaper "Hurriyet", which referred to some Russian propaganda website that is publishing, however, sometimes insider's information from law enforcement bodies.
