Foreign passport to Diana Ramazova was not issued in Chechnya, said MIA source
Today, a source from the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the name of the Russian citizen Diana Ramazova, suspected of committing a terror act in Istanbul, is not among the recipients of foreign passports issued in Chechnya. According to power agents, Diana Ramazova "has nothing to do with Chechnya."
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 6, in the historic centre of Istanbul, a female suicide bomber committed a terror act, in which one policeman was killed and another one wounded. The woman also died. On January 8, some mass media spread information, with reference to the MIA of Turkey, that the Istanbul suicide bomber was identified as a Russian citizen and a native of Chechnya Diana Ramazova.
"It follows from media reports that Ramazova came to Turkey last summer as a tourist. To do so, she naturally needed a foreign passport; however, this name is not among the recipients of foreign passports in our republic. Besides, Chechens have no such surnames – Ramazova or Ramazov," the above MIA source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
