Azerbaijan refutes its losses on January 11 in Karabakh conflict zone
Officials of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) have denied the reports of their counterparts of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) that on January 11 the Azerbaijani Army suffered losses as a result of armed incidents.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the NKR's Defence Army reported about an attempt of the enemy to commit an act of sabotage on January 11 in two directions of the frontline. The NKR's MoD announced that as a result of the incidents, Azerbaijani soldiers retreated, suffering losses.
The message about the death of Azerbaijani militaries is false, said the press service of the MoD of Azerbaijan.
"During the specified time, Azerbaijani armed forces had no losses in any direction of the frontline. Our armed forces are completely controlling the operational situation along the whole frontline," said the MoD.
On January 12, Vagif Dargyakhly, the head of the press service of the MoD of Azerbaijan, said that on January 11, the ceasefire was broken by the Armenian party.
He also denied the statement of Artsrun Ovannisyan, the press-secretary of the Armenian Defence Minister, who announced on January 11 a death of an Azerbaijani soldier and an Armenian shepherd while preventing an attempt of a sabotage act, undertaken by enemy troops, the "Trend" reports.
