OSCE monitoring in Karabakh conflict zone interrupted because of fire
Monitoring of the OSCE on the contact line between the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan has been interrupted because of a shot fired from the Azerbaijani side, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Nagorno-Karabakh reports. The Azerbaijani side accuses Armenian soldiers of opening fire.
"The Karabakh side has brought the OSCE mission to its frontlines. However, because of a shot fired from the Azerbaijani side, field assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman found that expedient to suspend monitoring for safety reasons," the Karabakh MFA reports.
In its turn, the Azerbaijani side accuses the Armenian Armed Forces of the suspension of the OSCE monitoring and claimed that during the monitoring, the Armenian armed units opened fire on the Azerbaijani positions.
Under the rules of the monitoring, the unit of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces did not open fire, and appropriate conditions for the completion of the monitoring were provided, as the "Trend" quotes Evgeny Sharov, the field assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman, as stating.
