Diana Ramazanova was IS member, said a source from Turkish intelligence
Diana Ramazanova, who committed, according to law enforcement bodies of Turkey, a terror act in Istanbul, was the wife of a native of Chechnya Abu Edelbiev, who was killed in Syria, and was a member, together with him, of the extremist organization "Islamic State" (IS), said a source from the Turkish intelligence service.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the young woman, who committed a terror act in Istanbul on January 6, in which she killed herself and a policeman, was identified as Diana Ramazanova, a native of Dagestan. Her relatives recognized her in the photo.
According to the above intelligence source, Ramazanova got acquainted with Abu Edelbiev through social networks; and in May 2014 she came to Istanbul, where she met him personally. The young people's wedding ceremony took place in a mosque. In July 2014, the couple went to Syria, where they joined the IS, which is recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia, by taking the names of Idris and Sumeira, said the source.
He added that after the death of Edelbiev in December 2014, Ramazanova crossed the Turkish-Syrian border; however, investigators are still unaware from whom she had received the explosive device, the RIA "Novosti" reports quoting the Turkish newspaper "Hurriyet".
This information has not yet been confirmed by other sources.
