28 people turn to hospital after protest in Gyumri
After the action of protest in Gyumri, Armenia, and the brawl that broke out there, on January 15 and 16, in total, 28 persons turned for help to hospital, said Armen Isaakyan, the director of the medical centre in Gyumri.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 15 the funeral of the Avetisyan family in Gyumri escalated into a protest action and clashes with the police. Protesters demanded that Permyakov to be tried in Armenia. Earlier, it was reported that 13 protesters were detained; on Friday, January 16, they all were released from the police station.
Eighteen of those who addressed doctors were policemen, added Isaakyan.
At night on January 16, two injured policemen were taken from Gyumri to Yerevan. One of them, a 32-year-old officer Grant Avetisyan was operated on, said Gagik Manukyan, the medical deputy director of the "Surb Grigor Lusavorich" Medical Centre.
