Stavropol Territory: man killed in shootout with police
In the vicinity of the village of Verkhnestepnoe, Stepnovsky District of the Stavropol Territory, an unidentified man opened fire at policemen from his car and was killed by return fire, said a law enforcement source.
None of the policemen was hurt in the shootout.
So far, there is no official confirmation of this information and no data about the casualty's identification.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that on July 21, 2014, according to information of the Chief Department of the Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), in the Novoselitsky District of the Stavropol Territory, policemen also killed a man who opened fire on them. Maida Kakbulatova, a resident of the village of Kara-Tyube identified the casualty as her husband Almaz Abdulnasyrov in the photo posted on the website of the MIA. Relatives and friends of Abdulnasyrov believe that he had been tortured before his death.
