Militant killed in Nalchik identified as local Alikhan Tochiev
The member of the illegal armed formation (IAF), who was shot dead yesterday in the counterterrorist operation (CTO) in Nalchik, was identified as a local resident Alikhan Tochiev, said a law enforcement source of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the CTO regime was introduced on January 18 at 7:00 a.m. Moscow time in Nalchik, in the territory of gardening partnerships "Druzhba" and "Michurinets".
According to law enforcers, Tochiev was not on the federal wanted list; however, investigators had information that at the end of last year, Tochiev returned to the republic from Syria, where he took part in the warfare, the "Kommersant" wrote on January 18.
According to power agents, Tochiev was sent to the KBR to activate local IAFs and organize sabotage and terror acts.
