No suspects in Kadyrov's assassination

Investigative bodies have no concrete information on the implication of either, one or another man in the terrorist act committed at the Dinamo stadium in Grozny on May 9, a source at the Chechen interior ministry told the Caucasian Knot correspondent on May 21. The ministry's official denied the reports that at least two men involved in this crime had been detained. "The reports published by the media that 28-year-old Ibragim Musayev arrested in Ingushetia a few days ago and 37-year-old Lom-Ali Chupalayev detained in the Urus-Martan district of Chechnya on May 12 are involved in this crime do not represent the facts. Musayev is suspected of membership of illegal armed units and involvement in terrorist acts in Moscow (in the Dubrovka theatre center and near a McDonald's restaurant) and Chupalayev, who worked as a bricklayer in a group of builders reconstructing the Dinamo stadium, is also being checked for involvement in bandit units," the source said.

He rated the reports that Shamil Basayev had taken responsibility for Akhmad Kadyrov's assassination as the rebels' propaganda move. "Basayev and other leaders of bandit units need to represent themselves as a serious force. Salman Raduyev also liked to take responsibility for all terrorist acts that took place in Russia and Georgia," the officer said.
