ATO speaker states transfer of new Russian troops to Rostov Region
According to the command centre of the antiterrorist operation (ATO) of Ukraine, three battalion tactical groups and artillery battalion have approached four villages of the Rostov Region near the Ukrainian-Russian border. This was reported by Andrei Lysenko, the ATO speaker.
Andrei Lysenko has announced the new information at the emergency briefing held in Kiev on January 20.
Till present, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has not yet commented on the statement made by the ATO speaker.
Besides, on January 19, the press service of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine issued the statement reporting that two battalion and tactical units of the Russian armed forces numbering about 700 people had crossed the border with Ukraine, the "RBC-Ukraine" reports.
On the next day, the above statement was denied by Major General Igor Konashenkov, the spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defence.
