Armenian investigators publish video of Permyakov's interrogation
On January 22, the press service of the Investigating Committee (IC) of Armenia reported about another interrogation of the Russian military Valery Permyakov, accused of assassinating seven persons.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on January 12, in Gyumri, six members of the Avetisyan family were assassinated. The only survivor of the attack – the six-month-old Sergey Avetisyan – was hospitalized in critical condition and underwent his treatment in Yerevan. On January 19, the baby's condition has deteriorated and he died. A Russian regular soldier Valery Permyakov is arrested as a suspect of committing the massacre. The mass murder in Gyumri triggered a wave of protests after the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Armenia said the Russian soldier, suspected of the crime, would not be given out to Armenian law enforcement bodies, since he is a citizen of Russia.
"The new interrogation of Permyakov was held with the participation of an advocate and an interpreter. In accordance with the law, the interrogation was video recorded," the "Armenia Today" quotes the press service of the IC.
Investigators took Permyakov's assays for the forensic biological-genetic and criminalistic examinations to compare them with the traces found at the crime scene, the edition "lragir.am" writes with reference to the IC of Armenia.
The IC has released a video footage of the interrogation; it can be found on the YouTube. The 34-second-long clip without sound presents interrogation excerpts, some 2-3 second long, where we can see Valery Permyakov, sitting inside the circle of Armenian investigators and answering their questions. For less than a day the video was watched for almost 185,000 times.
