Policeman suspected of abuse of office in Nevinnomyssk

In the city of Nevinnomyssk, policemen became figurants in the case about beating up a local resident. They are charged with abuse of power.

According to investigators, in the evening on December 4, 2014, two policemen inflicted, in the vicinity of the cafe "Sputnik", at least six punches and kicks to a local resident. The man, who was recognized to be the suffered party, was beaten on his head and body; without any legitimate reason, as it was shown by the inquiry.

A criminal case was opened against the policemen under point "b", Part 3, Article 286, of the Russian Criminal Code (abuse of power), says the today's statement posted on the website of the Investigating Department for the Stavropol Territory of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The degree of harm to the victim's health is not specified.

The article incriminated to the policemen assumes imprisonment for a term from three to ten years.
