Two Armenian soldiers perished in Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict zone

Today, two servicemen of the Armed Forces of Armenia perished on the border with Azerbaijan, said the press service of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia. One Armenian soldier was heavily wounded.

This morning, Azerbaijani special units undertook an attack in the direction of the combat positions stationed in the area of the city of Berd, Tavush Region of Armenia. During the fight, Lieutenant Karen Galstyan and Private Artak Sargsyan were killed, said Artsrun Ovannisyan, the press secretary of the MoD of Armenia.

According to his story, reported by the "PanArmenian", Azerbaijanis were thrown back while suffering losses.

Besides, the Private Ovannes Avanesyan was wounded in the armed clash. He has been operated on; his health condition is extremely grave but stable, said Edik Grigoryan, the head of the hospital of the city of Berd, as quoted by the "News-Armenia".

The Azerbaijani party has confirmed the death of two soldiers of the Armenian Armed Forces; however, they treat the reason of the armed clash as an attempt by the Armenian reconnaissance and sabotage groups to cross the contact line.
