Builder of Olympic facilities asks Sochi City Council to support cheated workers
Nikolai Belugin, a pensioner, has asked the members of the Sochi City Council to organize a charity event with the aim to collect funds to help the builders of Olympic facilities, who have failed to receive their wages at the companies that belonged to one of the council members.
Nikolai Belugin did not receive almost 347,000 roubles for his work at construction of Olympic facilities in 2014.
The pensioner made the above proposal, arguing that in both organizations for which he worked one of the members of the City Council was the main stakeholder.
"I wonder what the people's elects… will answer," said the pensioner, adding that he is sick and tired of going to courts and court marshals with a demand to get his honestly earned money.
He said that the companies, where he worked, "employed about five hundred people from different parts of our country and from abroad... They went home without their wages; and we, Sochi residents, began fighting for our money," said the pensioner.
