Azerbaijan accuses Armenian party of violating ceasefire

Over the past 24 hours, the Armenian party has violated the ceasefire in the conflict zone for 124 times, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan has reported, while the spokesman for the MoD of Armenia has reported last night's relative peace on the contact line.

According to the MoD of Azerbaijan, the Armenian party shelled the positions of Azerbaijani armed forces deployed in the villages of the Gazakh and Tovuz Districts, as well as on the nameless heights in the Gadabay District.

"The shelling was suppressed by response fire," said the Azerbaijani MoD, as quoted by the "Trend" News Agency.

In his turn, Senor Asratyan, the spokesman for the MoD of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), has stated that the Azerbaijani armed forces continue violating the ceasefire. As reported by the "NEWS.am", he said that the NKR's party suffered no losses.

The agency "News-Armenia" has reported with reference to the press service of the MoD of the NKR that over the past week the Azerbaijani party violated the ceasefire at the contact line with the NKR's Defence Army for about 1800 times, making over 20,000 shots.
