Sacred Islamic relic brought from Makhachkala to Moscow
On January 25, a hair of Prophet Muhammad was delivered from Makhachkala to Moscow for public observation at the gala party "Mawlid al-Nabi".
The "Mawlid al-Nabi" is the birth of Prophet Muhammad; it is celebrated on the 12th day of the third month of Rabigh al-Awal of the Islamic calendar. Since the exact date of Muhammad's birth is unknown, this memorable day was timed to the day of his death that affects the character of the celebration. In Islam, birthdays are marked modestly; sometimes not marked at all, while the dates of death, understood as the birth for eternal life, are celebrated more solemnly, writes the "Calendar of Events".
The Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Dagestan and the Mufti Akhmad-Haji Abdullaev have showed this gesture of goodwill by giving the Moscow brotherly Muslim community, respected by us, the opportunity to see such a supreme relic," a representative of the SAM of Dagestan told the RIA "Dagestan".
The Muslim shrine can be viewed by using a magnifying glass in the Moscow Concert Hall "Crocus City Hall", reports the website "mawlid.ru".
