Rights defenders, lawyers get legal training in Ingushetia
Workshops for Chechen and Ingush human rights activists and lawyers were conducted in Nazran on May 19-20. Their theme was "Criteria for Acceptability of Complaints to the European Court". The workshops were arranged by the International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights jointly with experts of the Moscow-based International Protection Centre within the framework of the Tacis project Individual Human Rights Protection in Russia. Vladimir Weissman of the International Helsinki Federation and Karina Moskalenko of the International Protection Center arrived in Nazran as experts in international law.
"This is already the sixth workshop on international law we conduct for local human rights activists and lawyers with the financial assistance of the European Union," Mr Weissman said to the Caucasian Knot correspondent.
