In the period from January 26 to February 1, at least two persons suffered in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week from January 26 to February 1, 2015, two persons were killed in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Both casualties are alleged members of the armed underground in Dagestan.

Attacks on law enforcers

On January 28, near the village of Nizhnee Kazanische, Buynaksk District of Dagestan, policemen tried to stop a car for inspection. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the driver, ignored the demand; a fire at the policemen was opened from inside the car. During the shootout, two men in the car were killed. Nobody of the policemen was hurt.

Disappearances

On January 29, Magomed Davudov, a resident of the village of Stalskoe, Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, went missing. According to his relatives, he was to drive to Makhachkala, where he made repairs in the house of his fellow villager, but never reached the place. Since then, there is no information about his whereabouts. Davudov's relatives assert that he was a strictly practicing Muslim; he had a long beard; while his wife and daughter are wearing hijabs. They believe that this circumstance could be the cause of his disappearance.
