Governor of Rostov Region extends state of emergency because of increased number of refugees
On February 2, Vasily Golubev, the Governor of the Rostov Region, decided to extend the emergency regime throughout the entire region, and instructed the heads of municipalities to prepare additional places to accommodate Ukrainian refugees.
Residents of Ukraine began to arrive en masse in Russia after the start by the Ukrainian power agents of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in the Lugansk and Donetsk Regions. On September 5, 2014, inMinsk a ceasefire agreement was signed, after which migrants began returning home; and the field camps were liquidated. However, in early December 2014, the authorities of the Rostov Region again reported an increase in the number of refugees. The region then set up 21 temporary accommodation centres (TACs), which as of February 2 housed 2805 people.
As reported by Vasily Golubev in his microblog on the Twitter, out of these 2805 persons, nearly 1000 arrived within the last week.
According to his story, the others, who have relatives and friends, go also to other regions of Russia.
