Dagestani native detained in Rostov-on-Don after his threat to blow up railway station
In the evening of February 3, the law enforcement authorities detained a native of Dagestan after his threats to blow up the railway station "Rostov-Glavny".
According to the preliminary information of the police, at 8:18 p.m. of February 3, the detainee called the police phone number "02" and reported that he was in the railway station building and that it was mined.
The man threatened to blow up the station. For two hours the law enforcers were holding negotiations with him. As a result, he was detained and brought to the police unit on duty. No explosive device was found, the "RBC-Rostov" reports with reference to Svetlana Chornovol, an officer of the press service of the Transport Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD).
According to Svetlana Chornovol, people were evacuated from the station building for the period of the special operation.
The man demanded from the authorities to return to him his 9-year-old daughter. At present, the girl lives with his common-law wife in Rostov-on-Don. In case the child is not returned, the man has promised to blow up the railway station, the "Lifenews" reports with a reference to a source in the law enforcement agencies of the region.
