Court rules to arrest Vice-Governor of Krasnodar Territory
Today, the Oktiabrsky District Court of Krasnodar has ruled to arrest Vadim Lukoyanov, the Vice-Governor of the Krasnodar Territory.
On February 2, the Minister of Natural Resources of the Krasnodar Territory, the Vice-Governor Vadim Lukoyanov and a former Vice-Governor Alexander Ivanov were detained. The reason for detention of the officials was not disclosed.
The court session, which decided on Lukoyanov's freedom restraint measure, was held today behind closed doors. The top-ranking official is suspected of committing a large-scale fraud; and the court finally ruled to arrest him.
The court also plans to consider today the freedom restriction measure for the former Vice-Governor Alexander Ivanov, who was detained on suspicion of abuse of power, the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" reports.
After detention, Lukoyanov and Ivanov were sent to the Krasnodar SIZO (pre-trial prison), the portal "Yuga.ru" reports.
