Album of Canadian photographer presented in NKR towards 100th anniversary of Armenian genocide

On February 6, the State Museum of Fine Arts in the city of Shusha held a presentation of the album by the Canadian photographer Grair Baze Khacheryan. The event was a part of the campaign dedicated to the centennial of the Armenian genocide committed by the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1923.

The album contains nearly two thousand photographs of historical and architectural monuments, national costumes and attributes, the remnants of Armenian churches and manuscripts, as well as of all Armenian villages, whose inhabitants were killed during the genocide, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

"I worked for 17 years to create the album. Many of the photos were taken in various museums around the world, as well as in the course of my more than thirty trips to Western Armenia. I dedicate this work to my ancestors, who fell victim to genocide," Grair Baze Khacheryan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The album, compiled in three languages – Armenian, English and French – is published, according to the photographer, for his personal savings and has the circulation of 2500 copies. Basically, it will be distributed in Europe and other countries around the world, said the author.
