NKR's MoD blames Azerbaijan for more than 1200 shootings per week

On February 1-7, Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire in the conflict zone for more than 1200 times, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the press service of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

"Within the last 6 days, on the contact line of the Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces, Azerbaijan fired more than 17,000 rounds from various types of small firearms, grenade launchers and mortars at Armenian positions," said the press service of the NKR's Defence Army.

According to the press service, "the advanced units of the Defence Army were forced to repel the aggressive enemy actions, resulting in human and material losses of the Azerbaijani Army."

So far, no comments on this information have been made by the Azerbaijani counterparts. However, as reported by the "Caucasian Knot", the Azerbaijani MoD reported today the enemy's fire from heavy machine guns. The Armenian authorities have described the situation in the conflict zone as calm.
