Abductions go on in Chechen villages
Danilbek Magomadov, a 26-year-old local, was captured by officers of security agencies in the Chechen village of Achkhoy-Martan on May 21. The officers arrived at the settlement in several cars without number plates and took the man away in an unknown direction. Relatives of the detained man said the men who had rushed into their house neither introduced themselves nor explained reasons for the arrest. Mr Magomadov's relatives assert he had nothing to do with hostilities in the republic and have not been seen doing anything shady.
A 16-year-old local was reportedly abducted by gunmen in masks and camouflage uniforms in the village of Pobedinskoye, Chechnya's Grozny (rural) district. The incident occurred on the night of May 21-22. Details of the happening are being ascertained.
