On February 2-8, armed conflict in Northern Caucasus fixed no victims
During the week from February 2 to February 8, 2015, no victims of the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus were registered. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
Special and counterterrorist operations
On February 4, the Derbent and Tabasaran Districts of Dagestan were put under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime. According to the operative headquarters of the Russia's National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), the CTO includes preventive and investigatory actions aimed at detection and neutralization of members of the terrorist underground and their helpers.
On February 5, the CTO regime, introduced on February 15, 2014, in the Khasavyurt and Kizilyurt Districts of Dagestan, as well as within the administrative centres of these districts – the cities of Khasavyurt and Kizilyurt – was lifted.
Detentions
On January 27, two young men wearing beards were detained in Grozny by employees of some unidentified power bodies. The detainees were beaten up; and their beards were shaved off by force, one of their acquaintances has reported.
On February 2, law enforcers confiscated grenades and ammunition to a submachine gun from the house of a resident of the Oktiabrsky District of the city of October. The house owner was detained.
