Armenia's IC finds beaten activist Khachatryan to be a victim

Investigators have questioned the activist Artak Khachatryan, who suffered in an attack on him, as a victim, said the Investigating Committee (IC) of Armenia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 7 in Yerevan, Artak Khachatryan, an activist of the initiative group "Termination", was kidnapped by a group of armed men, who beat him up, and then disappeared. On February 8, Artak's brother said that his bother's health status had sharply deteriorated.

Investigators of the IC have visited Artak Khachatryan at the medical centre and questioned him as a victim, the News Agency "Armenia Today" reports, referring to the press service of the IC.

At present, policemen find out the availability of any video records from the surveillance cameras installed at the entertainment centre "Tskhotner", where the activist was kidnapped. Artak is still in the intensive care unit of the Medical Centre "Malatia".

The MP, who visited him, described his condition as stable.

Let us remind you that earlier Artak's brother associated the attack on the activist with his social and political activities, in particular, with his participation in protests against the adoption of amendments to the Law "On Turnover Tax".
