Advocate challenges decision to search oppositionist Khazbiev at the Ingush SC
A complaint against the decision to put Magomed Khazbiev on the wanted list was lodged to the Supreme Court (SC) of Ingushetia by his advocate Khedy Ibrieva.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 30 Khazbiev felt bad in Grozny and was hospitalized. On February 1, according to Ibrieva, he was attacked in Grozny, but remained safe. On February 4, the oppositionist was detained in the Chechen capital and placed into IVS-1 (temporary detention facility). His defence appealed against the detention; and on February 6, Magomed Khazbiev was released from the IVS and placed under state protection.
The complaint against the decision of the Magas City Court was lodged to the SC of Ingushetia on February 10, said Khedy Ibrieva.
According to Leila Khazbieva, Magomed's wife, her husband is now in Grozny under state protection. Khazbiev believes that "everything will be fine," added the wife of the oppositionist.
Under the law, the state protection can be provided to accused or suspected persons, said Alexei Gurov, a lawyer from the Moscow Bar Association "Barschevsky and Partners", and added that if Khazbiev is under state protection, the state knows his whereabouts; and it is possible to conduct investigatory actions with him.
