Activists in Yerevan express concern about absence of reliable information on Gyumri murder case
The official statements by the Armenian and Russian parties about the inquiry into the massacre of the Avetisyan family in Gyumri look not credible; while the public receives very little information about the case, said picketers in Yerevan.
Armenian citizens are not aware of the details of the case against Permyakov, although they have every right to know them, Narek Aivazyan, a picketer, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, emphasizing that the defendant must be transferred to the Armenian party.
According to Gevorg Sanoyan, another picketer, Russian media spread contradictory information in connection with the murder in Gyumri.
He noted that the Moscow's statement that officials of the Russian Prosecutor's Office may act as prosecutors in the trial for the murder of the Avetisyan family is causing "a kind of distrust."
The above statement that Russian prosecutors may act as the prosecution party in the trial means that Russia is not going to transfer neither Permyakov nor the case as such to Armenian law enforcement bodies; and Russia has little interest in the letter of the Armenian Public Prosecutor General and has no intention to extradite Permyakov – this is the opinion of Daniel Ionnisyan, the head of the programmes of the "Union of Informed Citizens".
