Defence of native of Chechnya states he was tortured by power agents in Cherkessk

Adlan Bitsoev, a native of Chechnya, who was detained along with four other persons on charges of drug dealing, was taken out by power agents from Moscow to Cherkessk and subjected to torture their, his defenders assert.

According to investigators, in 2014, Adlan Bitsoev, 29, a native of Chechnya; Zelimkhan Makashev, 24, and Yunus Ustarkhanov, 23, both from Dagestan; and Yuri Batuev, 27, from North Ossetia, agreed via the Internet with Murat Aibazov, 26, that the latter would distribute the drugs received from them in the city of Cherkessk.

The advocates of Adlan Bitsoev have told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the above suspects were detained in violation of the law; and after Bitsoev's administrative arrest he was questioned under pressure.

The newspaper "Novye Izvestia" wrote on March 31 that during the interrogation they pierced a rotating drill into Bitsoev's leg.

According to the newspaper, the report of the operative agent dated March 24 says that Bitsoev was in the state of intoxication: "he behaved inadequately; walked lurching from side to side; and spoke incoherently."

"The paradox of this story is that the above 'violation' happened almost three days after Bitsoev was taken away by operative agents; and he was in their hands," the "Novye Izvestia" quotes the advocate Khasan Bidjiev as saying.
