Jehovah's Witnesses still imprisoned in Armenia
In spite of the fact that the law on alternative service has been passed in Armenia, people who disagree with military service are still imprisoned. Amnesty International (AI) has pointed to it in its report on the human rights situation in Armenia in 2003. By AI's information, 27 people who do not want to go to the army are still imprisoned and another 5 are waiting for their sentence. They all are Jehovah's Witnesses, reads the report.
