Yerevan city administration bans opposition meeting
On June 1, the Yerevan city administration banned the meeting of the united opposition set for June 4. The administration explained the refusal by the fact that criminal cases had been opened in connection with meetings held by the opposition before, reported the press service of the opposition party Anrapetutiun (Republic).
Members of the bloc Justice rate this fact as a new violation of the April 28 resolution of the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly on Armenia. This resolution urges the authorities not to hamper the holding of peaceful meetings of opposition forces.
