Georgia brings heavy armor, 350 peacekeepers in Georgian-Osetian conflict zone
Georgia is bringing heavy armored vehicles and 350 peacekeepers in the zone of the Georgian-Osetian conflict, informed a source in the Georgian defense ministry. 350 servicemen of the Georgian army and 20 railroad cars with tanks, armored vehicles and Grad emplacements arrived at dawn in the town of Gori, bordering about the conflict zone. Georgia's quota in the CIS Peacekeeping Force in the zone of the Georgian-Osetian conflict is 500 people. Only 150 Georgian peacekeepers are dislocated in the conflict zone now.
Besides, the command of the CIS Peacekeeping Force has complied with Georgia's request and commander of the peacekeepers in the zone of the Georgian-Osetian conflict Svyatoslav Navzorov will be dismissed within three days. Major-General Gulakhametov is supposed to be appointed instead of him.
