Meeting of PACE delegation with war crime victims under threat of frustration
It has become known today that a scheduled meeting of the PACE delegation with victims of war crimes in the offices of the Memorial Human Rights Center in Grozny and Nazran may be frustrated. Leonid Slutsky, a State Duma Deputy for the Russian Liberal Democratic Party, reportedly called a Memorial activist early in the morning today to inform him that the meeting would take place in Grozny at 7:30 a.m. today. Then Mr Slutsky gave the number of his mobile phone for further instructions. All the attempts made by the Memorial Human Rights Center to get in touch with Mr Slutsky using this number have failed so far.
