General Lebed Peacemaking Mission to resume its work
The board of the interregional non-political non-governmental organization General Lebed Peacemaking Mission has made a decision to resume the work on the search for the missing and release of people illegally held on the territory of the Chechen republic and on the implementation of the program to withdraw explosives, weapons and ammunition from the local population. These forms of activity are stated in the organization's charter. The above-mentioned work was suspended because of the four-month examination of the organization's activity conducted by the Pyatigorsk prosecutor's office. No violations of the law have been established.
