Picket in support of political prisoners held in Rostov-on-Don

Today, 15 people gathered to picket in support of political prisoners in Rostov-on-Don, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The event took place in the Builders' City Park and was agreed with the Mayoralty.

"The aim of the action is to support political prisoners, whom Russia has more and more," Yana Goncharova, the organizer, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The picketers came out with posters: "Freedom to Sentsov and Kolchenko!", "Freedom to May 6 prisoners!" and "Free Savchenko!" Some of them wore T-shirts with photos of the figurants of the "Bolotnaya Square case".

"We are outraged with unfair court judgements in relation to people whom the authorities persecuted for political or personal reasons," Denis Dubrov, a picketer, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "We are indignant that in Rostov they convicted the journalist Sergey Reznik; now they try Oleg Sentsov and Nadezhda Savchenko. We are doing all that we can; it's little, but I want to be sure that we've done everything possible."
