South Osetia denies arrest of republican customs officers by Georgian police

On June 14, the media reported with reference to chief of the Georgian financial police David Kvezerashvili that "the Georgian financial police have detained three customs officers of the breakaway republic of South Osetia near the village of Megvrekisi (Georgia's Gori district) not far from Tskhinvali". Meanwhile, head of the South Osetian State Customs Department Konstantin Kabisov has declared that these reports are contrary to fact. No officer of the South Osetian customs service has been detained. All South Osetian customs officers are doing their duties.
